Fun Facts
Generally non-migratory and often found foraging on the ground in pairs or small groups.
Native to Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent, and widely introduced in Western Australia.
A small, long-tailed dove with a characteristic pinkish-brown head and neck and a checkered patch on the throat.
Named for its distinct cooing call which resembles a soft, human chuckle or laugh
